Mirtinga Tea Estate

01 — The Terroir

The Surma Valley Foothills

Kamalganj rests in the subtropical rainforest belt of Moulvibazar, approximately 14 km southeast of Sreemangal. Flanked by wildlife reserves and undulating teelas (hillocks), the estate thrives in mineral-rich red laterite loam and heavy monsoonal cloudbursts followed by misty mountain dawns.

02 — The Estate

One garden, living soil, zero blending

Mirtinga is a dedicated single-garden estate operated under the historic Deundi Tea Company heritage. Our pickers belong to families who have stewarded these very hillside rows for generations. Every gram of tea in a Mirtinga pouch originates from our contiguous estate canopy — never diluted, never blended with commodity auction leaf.

03 — The Process

The Orthodox Leaf Journey

01
Pluck
Two tender leaves and a silver bud, hand-harvested at daybreak.
02
Wither
Aerated on natural troughs until leaves turn pliable and fragrant.
03
Roll
Traditional orthodox rolling twists whole leaves without crushing.
04
Oxidise
Monitored on cool stone slabs until malty floral notes emerge.
05
Dry & Sort
Charcoal wood fired to halt oxidation, then graded by hand.

“The morning fog of Kamalganj feeds the bud. We merely shepherd the harvest from bush to cup.”
